I fostered my Pit when she wass 5 weeks old. I've ALWAYS had German Shepherd's and assured everyone I'd never get attatched....She turned 2 years old in June lol!! I've been an advocate of training Large breed dogs. My oldest (17 years) was an alert dog in Wa. When the pup came here, being a Pit, she got my training course early and often lol! I'm a golfer, and my dog'd names are Bogey, Divot, and lil taylormade a.k.a Taytay! I've socialized her, take her to crowded places, dog parks, etc...
I am proud to say, Tay is welcome at all the establishments I go to. Bank, Walmart, Jamba Juice, etc. They've all met her as a baby, watched us walk by, T sits at all oncoming people-tail wagging. I'll always love my Shepherd's but the personality of a well owned Pit is the BEST! I'm so proud of her, I've kind've made it my mission to show her in public. Listen to the comments- good and bad- but one incident in particular was when we were outside my Mom's store waiting and this big guy with his 3 kids, all under 7 years, came to me and thanked me for showing the public Pits are good dogs. Then he told his young kids "hey, this is a Pit bull, and if you'd like to pet her it's ok. (that made my day!) Of course he also said, this is the only time you'll get to pet one unless I know it's a good dog, like this one.Anyway- As with all dogs, work is never done! The beauty of working breeds is they LOVE to keep working and training. I'm glad my friend sent this site to me. My name is Leslie, and I hope to be able to show you my tay- even got her tatooed on my back lol! It's of her exactly, pink collar and all! "My Bully is NO Bully"- BEST REGARDS
