Peace Love and Pit Bulls is looking for fosters

If you have the time, patience, and an open mind we are looking for you to foster a pit bull.

The Mission:

  • Rescue a pit bull that would other wise be put down. There are wonderful bully breed dogs with great temperaments and good dispositions that will be killed due to lack of space or obedience issues*.
  • Work with the dog so it can pass the AKC’s CGC (Canine Good Citizenship). Doesn’t have to officially take the test but should be able to complete the 10 requirements.
  • Work with Peace Love and Pit Bulls with once a week for meetings, conferences and training exercises so you have the support network to have a successful experience.
  • Work with Peace Love and Pit Bulls to help promote, and network your foster into a forever home.
  • REPEAT

Tino with his pack

Many dogs were never properly leash trained or taught not to jump on people. Which means a bully breed puppy at 9 months (still a playful pup) is 40 to 60 pounds of jumping out of control bundle of LOVE! That’s when they get quarantined to the back yard or dumped on the street or turned directly over to Leid Animal Shelter. Then good people adopt them and two weeks later return the animal because they have no idea of what to do with that much misdirected energy. You can break that cycle by being a good foster and helping the dog understand the rules of living inside with a human pack.

If you are dedicated to the process, Peace Love and Pit Bulls can help guide you in finding a good dog at your ability level and walk you through the steps. Please use the contact page to get in touch with us.

Thanks
Peace Love and Pit Bulls

Buddy is ready for a home!

Peace Love And Pit Bulls rescued Buddy (originally named Montana) from the LEID Animal Shelter. He was having issues of hiding in the back whenever anyone came to look at him. Refusing to come through his doggy door to greet potential adopters. It was sad. It was clear to Tino that he had great potential to someones best Buddy, and now he’s ready to go. Friendly, sweet, gets along with other dogs and is a real lover!
